This paper examines, through an analytical perspective, the current trends in the field of regional security and the stakes raised by the major transformations taking place in the Mediterranean basin, and its implications for the security of the Maghreb region in the broad concept of security, which requires first identifying the manifestations of transformation and areas that affected it as a crisis of the failed state with its repercussions after The events of the Arab Spring, the regional threat to terrorist activity, developments in economic needs and common defense requirements, especially in light of the emergence of new actors through forces emerging from outside the region, increasingly trying to reshape the strategic environment in the Mediterranean mainly “Asian and American powers”.
