Abstract:
This study starts with trying to figure out what’s the security in the Mediterranean, by conducting an assessment of the factors of insecurity in this region, whose main feature is the multitude of threats, risks, the intersection of security dynamics and interactions, which has transformed it into a regional risk society, in which crises are easily spreading, which pushed Mediterranean countries towards seeking to make this region “safe”, create a framework for security cooperation and rapprochement in it. However, the varying exposure to threats and the divergent perceptions around it, as well as cultural, political, economic and external factors prevented this, so we will finally come up with a set of proposals that we consider as an important step in coping with the security issue in Mediterranean.
